Welcome to SincerelySubi.wordpress.com !
This site is dedicated to highlighting the world as I see it, through travel, self-discovery, positive thinking and of course, melanin fleekage. Just call me Subi. I am of Haitian descent, born and raised in the United States. In my 20 years of living, I have lived in 2 places- New York and Georgia, and hopefully, with time, that number will grow. I grew up in America, my first language is English, but growing up in a Haitian household, I was also exposed to Haitian Creole, so I speak that fluently as well, along with a strong knowledge of French
Right now, I’m a student at the University of Georgia studying International Affairs and French. I’m not sure where that road will quite yet take me, but I am so excited to find out where the finish line is. I am passionate about many other things, and I’ll be using this blog as a platform to share it with all of you guys. With all of that excitement, you guys will also get to read features about my travel experiences (hopefully there’ll be a ton of those) my love for food, posts about my favorite places, Faith, and of course, my life as a student and a woman growing into the person I’m determined to be!
“Nobody gets to live life backward. Look ahead, that is where your future lies.”
This quote is everything that I try to remember. Those small setbacks in life that make you feel like all the walls are crashing down. That feeling that nothing is going your way or ever will. That voice in the back of your head telling you to drop everything and give up. Put that voice to rest. Don’t look back, you’re not going that way. You are your biggest weakness; do not give in.
